Time to tell you about our fashion field trip to Germany! On Tuesday, Tiany announced Brunette Blogging and The Styling Dutchman as the winners of the Belmodo.tv C&A contest. I could hardly believe it, since I never win anything. Apparently, luck was on my side this time :) We were expected at 7.30 AM at the C&A headquarters in Vilvoorde. I was a total nerd, being the first one there. After waiting for everyone to arrive and trying to look as awake as humanly possible (I had the feeling I only slept for about 5 minutes that night), we all got on the VIP bus & took off. Direction: Düsseldorf, Germany, where the A/W 2011 fashion show of C&A took place.
We had breakfast on the bus & were all “treated” to 90s music & corny video clips followed by a DVD of Sensation White for the next three hours. Kind of funny, but not really my choice of music to say the least :) Anyway, after the bus ride we arrived at the venue! No time to waste, we immediately went to our seats…
Which, apparently, were front row seats! It’s kind of weird & I almost felt guilty sitting there but I set those feelings aside and tried to enjoy this experience as much as I could :) Don’t we all look like happy little bloggers sitting front row? :) So, me, Annebeth, Immi and Patricia (too bad I don’t have a picture of her sitting like that) were all sitting there, tweeting our asses off and blogging away during the show. Who ever said blogging wasn’t hard work? :)
That gold, sequin dress definitely was a show-stopper. Excuse the crappy pics, the lighting wasn’t the best for my camera :) Since the models move so fast, it’s once again hard to take a decent picture with a regular digital camera, so I used two official images to give you a better idea of some of the clothes. My favorite part about the collection were the chunky knitted scarves and the preppy, boyish looks for the girls. I mean, nerd glasses and loafers? Yes, please!
After the show, we had lunch and went to look at the clothes up close. We also filmed for Belmodo.tv, I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to being filmed, it makes me seriously uncomfortable! Then again, I realize it’s a very nice opportunity so I just try to act as natural & comfortable as I can :D I’m quite curious to see the result, I’ll keep you updated when the video is online!
After that, we were on our way home again. As you can see, we were all pretty exhausted :) It was a fun experience and I’m happy that I got to attend my first real live fashion show, that was honestly the best part about this. The models, walking all cool & confident down the runway, seeing the clothes up close whilst the music is playing really loud really creates a special feeling, ten times more fun than watching it on TV!
Thanks Belmodo.tv for taking me with you & thank you C&A for the warm welcome!
Pictures by me, Annebeth & C&A :) I’ll post some extra pictures on my Facebook page later!
