Let me introduce you to farfetch.com. Don’t worry if you haven’t heard of them before, I have to admit I hadn’t either, but after exploring the site & seeing the concept, I’m quite convinced you’ll like it as much as I do. Farfetch is an online marketplace that unites a network of independent boutiques. As such, when shopping on farfetch.com, you are able to choose from a very wide selection of designer pieces that are available in the best boutiques in the world, such as L’Eclaireur in Paris, Feathers in London, and Bblessing in New York. They even work with two Belgian boutiques which I’m sure my Belgian readers will already know: Francis Ferent and Ra.
Since Farfetch works with all these different boutiques, you as an online shopper can choose from their wide selection of boutique clothing, varying from more emerging and niche labels to luxurious and established designer names. They divide their labels into three departments: Luxe, Lab and Contemporary.
Luxe is where you will find the high-end of the designer offering, such as Alexander McQueen, Chloé and 3.1 Phillip Lim. Lab is home to experimental and emerging labels. In Lab you will find designers such as Acne, Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony and The Row. Contemporary features labels with a casual, urban attitude, including diffusion lines from the big fashion houses and premium denim brands. Here you can shop brands such as 7 for all mankind, Alexander Wang and Alice+Olivia.
Farfetch.com definitely has a beautiful selection of clothes and accessories for men and women, in my opinion. I’ll admit, the luxe department isn’t exactly within my budget (a girl can dream, however) but they also have affordable pieces in the other departments. Here are some of my favorites, happy shopping!
