Having a blog can teach you a thing or two about yourself. You finally get a clear view on how certain clothing fits your body (from every angle), you learn that you look really weird or ugly if pictures are being taken when you talk, you go all Mariah Carey sometimes by saying “Only take pictures of my good side!” – because yes, now you know you have a good left side – and of course, you also learn some meaningful stuff along the way. How to put yourself out there as a blogger, grow and develop certain talents, be more creative and all the other things that go hand in hand with maintaining a blog. Today however, we’ll focus on the shallow/funny stuff by zooming in on my general body position or clothing habits.
To the left, to the left (yes, that Béyonce song will be stuck in your head all day after reading that sentence) or to the right, it doesn’t seem to matter which side, but my head will go one way or the other. Why do I tilt, you ask? Who knows, maybe it’s all part of my adorable look: I just tilt my head, look at you with puppy eyes and convince you to like my blog. (Muhahaha, this would mean I’m actually evil instead of cute.)
It’s a weird phenomenon, why do women love stripes so much? Is it because it – supposedly – slims you down? Do we just really love zebras? I guess it’s because stripes are a classic, timeless print that you can keep on wearing, whether it’s winter or summer and, in general, it looks great in combination with other prints. Throw on some floral: it works! Put on some polka dots: it works! Maybe some more stripes? Surprise, surprise: it works!
Whether it’s a wool cap, an insanely embellished headband or a simple fedora: I want to put it on my head. People should wear more hats. MORE HATS, I tell ya! This hat obsession developed itself when my hair grew longer and longer, and I discovered how putting something on your head gave you that ultimate boho chic look. Not that I always want to look like a hippie, sometimes I also like to let out my inner hipster. That’s when I button my shirt all the way up and put on my bowler hat.
Ever since that wonderful moment when I spotted this pleated beauty online (and put it in my virtual basket) it quickly became on of my favorite pieces. Tops get tucked in it, golden sweaters get worn over it – this skirt has been around the block. You’ve witnessed that pleated action on the blog, and I have a feeling I’m not quite done terrorizing you with it. Do you mind?
