Good food, lovely company and great wine is basically my recipe for a fantastic time. I love having dinner parties with friends and in the case of such an event, we don’t mind opening up a bottle or two. Needless to say, I’ve been drinking and appreciating wine for quite a while now. I’m certainly not an expert in the matter but I definitely know what I like. Bordeaux hosted one of their intimate dinner concepts last weekend and I was glad to be one of the people on the invitation list. The crazy funny Marta opened up her home and provided the delicious food, while Gilles, Iris, David, Olaf, Dieter, Jens and I talked, laughed and – most of all – tasted wine.
As you can see, it was all good and delicious. My favorites of the night included the very fresh tasting (perfect for a hot summer day) white wine La Bottière Réserve and the sweet, sweet dessert wine Chateau Partarrieu (which reminded me very much of Canadian ice wine). A bit uncommon for me to pick these two, since I’m usually more about the red wines – but both of them surprised me in a good way. You can find all the Bordeaux wines and places to buy them here. Thanks to Bordeaux for another great night!
