As much as I love discovering new places and countries, I think it’s important to never take your own surroundings for granted – because they’re usually pretty damn great too. Brussels is a city I’ve always loved, but learned to appreciate even more over the years. I mean – just look at all that amazing architecture we’ve got going on here. The majority of my college years was spent in the area around De Beurs, and so many years later I still go back often since I don’t live far from there. It’s the area that’s probably most frequented by tourists, but that doesn’t mean that locals don’t hang out here too. Come to think about it, I should probably get busy on making a city guide of our very own capital with my favorite spots! In any case, I enjoyed strolling around “my neighborhood” over the weekend – taking pictures, going in and out of shops and enjoying a delicious lunch at Chicago. Speaking of hotspots, this one is a must-do when you’re in Brussels! I simply loved their healthy, Mexican-inspired menu and can’t wait to go back and try more.
