Fact: when it comes to hotspots, you’ll find plenty of them in Amsterdam – scattered all over the city. On one of my recent trips there, I visited a couple of new ones that I’ll share in a city guide post soon but Pluk was definitely one of my favorites! It’s located in the area of de Negen Straatjes (or nine streets), which means it’s pretty busy most of the time – and especially during the weekend. Pluk is basically a place where you can have breakfast slash lunch-type food (think: granola, sandwiches, desserts, smoothies, coffee) and buy really cute stuff too! If you can score a seat, it’s definitely a fun spot to refuel and take a break from discovering the beautiful city.
Their menu is pretty healthy, and the things I tasted were quite delicious – score! I’d love to go back to try one of their breakfast bowls, or another one of those yummy sandwiches. And those lovely looking cakes and sweets, of course. Did I mention already that my life mainly revolves around food?
Next to eating, you can do some really nice shopping here too! It’s quite hard to resist their cuter than cute selection of homeware (I took several of those cactus and eyelash cups home with me), candles or funny postcards. They also have a small offer of jewelry, and chances are pretty big you’re going to want it all.
Going to Pluk basically means facing two challenges: trying to grab a place to sit, and resisting the urge to buy everything from their shop!
