Even though the weather right now couldn’t be further from feeling like tropical temperatures (or spring, for that matter), I’m just going to whisk you away to a tropical paradise here. These pictures were taken during the last stretch of our trip in Myanmar, at Ngapali beach. After traveling around a lot during those three months, we were in need of a bit of down time (and frankly, I couldn’t quite handle the night busses in Myanmar anymore) so we decided to treat ourselves to some beach time at Ngapali! This is one of the “prime” destinations in Myanmar, and is always said to be more on the expensive side so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. Conclusion? It was truly a palm tree paradise, accompanied by beautiful beaches – and Ngapali itself has a really quiet, relaxed feel to it. Yes, there are a lot of super fancy resorts here but you can also find very decent budget accomodations and eating out definitely won’t break the bank. We did some snorkeling around here as well, and you’ll surely spot some pretty fish but don’t expect the same underwater experiences you’ll have in like, the Philippines. Tourism in Myanmar is certainly not as developed yet as it is in Thailand, so even when something is defined as a touristic destination, it will be much, much quieter in general compared to other beaches. These last few days spent here were quite lazy, but the surroundings were oh so beautiful – yup, I’m ready to go back now!
